The Umlambo Foundation has developed comprehensive support mechanisms in just a few short years that allow the government to accomplish the desired educational objectives.

Our journey started in 2009 and the Foundation made steady progress over the first five years. The work of the foundation was unfortunately and unavoidably affected when the founder and chairperson, Dr Mlambo-Ngcuka moved to New York to take up the position of United Nations Under Secretary General and Executive Director of UN Women in 2013. However, with Dr MlamboNgcuka’s return to South Africa in 2021, the work of the foundation has once again picked up speed and is proceeding well despite having to restrict its operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
